Poor Ovarian Reserve

Poor ovarian reserve is a term used to describe a lack of high-quality eggs available for ovulation and conception.  In lab work, this is commonly seen as high FSH, but a woman over the age of 35 may have normal FSH, and still have poor ovarian reserve.  She may also have normal FSH with high estradiol (E2), meaning that the high level of E2 has suppressed a tendency toward high FSH.

Chinese herbs and/or functional medicine supplements can help improve ovarian reserve, but analysis is required on many levels.  Saliva testing over the course of a cycle, measuring 11 data points of all of the reproductive hormones, serves as a baseline so you know where you are starting, before treatment.  Dietary changes are often necessary as well.
