Environmental toxins are found everywhere, including our food supply, plastic containers, and personal products.
Please see the Fertility "The Basics" page for background information about normal endocrine function.
Here are some helpful hints to avoid these contaminants wherever possible, as they can interfere with our endocrine system:
- Eat only grass-fed beef, free-range eggs, and organic dairy products. Recommended alternatives to dairy are goat's milk products, almond milk, and multi-grain milk. Soy products are acceptable in limited amounts, but excessive amounts may lower sperm count.
- Wait until food has cooled before putting leftovers away in plastic containers.
- Do NOT leave water bottles in the car while the sun is out.
- Do NOT microwave food while in plastic containers.
- To avoid mineral oil derivatives (paraffins, phthalates, petroleum by-products), use facial, body, and hair care products from companies that guarantee zero mineral oil content. One such company that happens to have money-back guarantees with all of their products is Arbonne International. You will need to buy these items from a consultant, as their products are not available in stores. Lindsey Slott can help you make these purchases, so contact her for more information at 781-879-4503.
